Kathmandu, Mar. 8: Mahashivaratri is being observed across the country by worshipping Lord Shiva on Friday.
Hindu devotees throng Shiva temples and perform a special pooja in reverence for Lord Shiva.
Devotees have gathered up at Pashupati Temple in Kathmandu since early morning today. All four entrances have been kept open in view of devotees since 3 am on the occasion of Mahashivaratri on Friday.
Sadhus from various parts of Nepal and India have arrived at Pashupatinath Temple. Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) does provide money and alms to them.
Devotees throng various “Shivalayas” on the day of Mahashivaratri which falls on the day of Krishna Chaturdashi.
The Shiva pooja is being performed at various Shiva temples including Haleshi and Devghat to pay homage to Lord Shiva.
The PADT has said that a special arrangement has been made so that devotees can visit Pashupatinath temple.
