Kathmandu, Dec. 10: Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) of Nepal, Ashok Raj Sigdel, has departed for India on an official visit. His trip comes at the formal invitation of Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi.
According to the Directorate of Public Relations and Information of the Nepali Army, the visit aligns with the tradition of honouring the army chiefs of Nepal and India with the honourary rank of General in each other’s armies. General Dwivedi had previously received the honorary rank from Nepali President Ram Chandra Paudel during his visit to Nepal.
During his stay, CoAS Sigdel will engage in meetings with senior Indian officials and attend the final parade of officer cadets undergoing training at an Indian military academy.
