Kathmandu, Apr. 3: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has made a decisive move by opting not to back the ruling alliance in the formation of provincial governments.
In a meeting held on Wednesday, the party’s office bearers reached the decision, as confirmed by party spokesperson Mohan Shrestha.
According to Shrestha, the RPP is inclined to lend its support to the opposition coalition, signaling a shift in political dynamics at the provincial level.
With a formidable presence in the Gandaki Provincial Assembly, the RPP’s decision holds significant implications, especially as the Nepali Congress, as the largest party in the province, prepares to initiate government formation efforts.
The resignation of Gandaki Province Chief Minister Surendra Pandey on Wednesday further complicates the political landscape, prompting a call from the province’s chief for political parties to assert their claims to the chief ministerial post within a week.
