Kathmandu, Dec. 13: Vehicular movement along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section is to come to a halt for four hours daily.
Traffic will be halted during the construction of the bridge on the road section. At today’s stakeholders meeting at the District Administration Office in Chitwan, it was decided to close the road for one month beginning Dec 20. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the road will be closed.
Vehicle traffic will be halted during the construction of the Simaltal, Kalikhola, Tuin Khola, and Chisenji Khola bridges, which are located in geographically difficult areas.
The meeting chaired by Chief District Officer Ashman Tamang has decided to stop passenger buses, mini, micro buses and small vehicles going towards Narayangadh from Pandhrakilo Bazar to Jugedi at 11 am. Similarly, heavy vehicles such as cargo trucks, lorries, trailers, trippers, tankers will be stopped from Bhateri Jungle to Ramnagar from 10:50 am.
Passenger vehicles from Kathmandu will be stopped from Muglin Bazar to Manakamana Cable Car Gate, and passenger vehicles from Pokhara will be stopped from Benitar to Powerhouse at 10:55 a.m. Similarly, at 10:45 a.m., the meeting decided to stop cargo vehicles arriving from Kathmandu at Lebatar and cargo vehicles arriving from Pokhara at Aanbu Khaireni.
The meeting decided that emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire trucks should be left from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Similarly, the traffic office will coordinate for the smooth operation of the Pokhara-Kathmandu route. Builders will mobilize sufficient resources and manpower to expedite construction work, while repair work will also be completed at this time.
