Five killed in Thankot-Chitlang accident

Kathmandu, Jan. 13: Five people were killed when a private vehicle met with an accident at Seto Pahara of Thankot-Chitlang Road section on Saturday afternoon. 

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Narayan Prasad Adhikari of Metropolitan Police Circle, Thankot said that four of the total six passengers died at the spot while the other died in the course of treatment at Vayodha Hospital. One was able to change the course of action by jumping from the vehicle. 

According to him, a private car, Ford, with a registration number (Bagmati Pradesh, 01-023 Cha 6985) which heading to Chitlang from Kathmandu went out of control and veered off 500 meters down the road causing a fatal accident. 

The deceased people have been identified as Omkarnidhi Tiwari, aged 67, from Maitidevi, Kathmandu-30, his 64-year-old wife, Kalpana Tiwari, their son-in-law, Dr Mahesh Kumar Gautam from Kathmandu-2, and his six-year-old daughter Smarika and four-year-old son Priyansh.
