NEPSE jumps 29.82 points, index inclines up 110 points in three days

Kathmandu, Mar. 30: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Sunday surged 29.82 points to close at 2,693.12 points.

The market saw an impressive growth in the past three days’ trading. During this period, the market gained over 110 points.  

Two groups including trading and mutual funds lost 11.33 points and 0.03 points, respectively. Out of the 11 gainers, the life insurance index surged the largest of 114.33 points.   

The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also inclined 3.97 points. Daily turnover amount increased to Rs 7.56 billion from Rs 5.22 billion on Thursday.  

Among individual companies, 222 were gainers while 22 were registered as losers. Himalayan Reinsurance Limited had the biggest turnover of Rs 691.97 million.

Joshi Hydropower Development Company gained the largest of 9.94 percent of its market price. The market value of Prabhu Smart Fund went down 5.79 percent, the highest of all.

On Sunday, the secondary market opened at 2,621.86 points and soared by around 60 points within the first two and a half hours trading, taking the index to the day’s high at 2,718.88 points. The market however went down and shed around 25 points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.
