Kathmandu, June 19: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell by 24.76 points or 0.93% on Thursday, closing at 2,628.91 points by the end of the trading session.
The market remained broadly negative throughout the day, with all sectors closing in the red. The Trading sector led the losses with a decline of 2.47%.
The Sensitive Index, which tracks Class 'A' companies, dropped by 0.66%, while the Float Index, reflecting actively traded shares, fell by 0.79%.
Today's trading saw a total turnover of Rs 11.23 billion, with 29,415,407 shares of 314 companies exchanged across 121,551 transactions.
Out of the traded stocks, only 47 advanced, while 201 declined, reflecting broad market pessimism. Meanwhile, two companies-Pure Energy Limited (PURE) and Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Company Limited (RHPL)-hit the 10% lower circuit limit.
At market close, the total market capitalization stood at Rs 4.379 trillion.
