Kathmandu, Jan. 4: Nepal and India have inked four agreements, covering crucial areas such as hydropower and satellite collaboration.
The formal signing ceremony, presided over by Nepal’s Minister of Foreign Affairs NP Saud and India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, marks a strengthening of bilateral ties.
The agreements, encompassing strategic sectors, were confirmed by Indian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Amrit Rai.
The signing ceremony took place during the visit of the Indian Foreign Minister to Nepal, where three key transmitter lines were inaugurated.
Highlighting India’s commitment to supporting Nepal’s reconstruction efforts, Rai announced that India would contribute a substantial Rs 10 billion specifically for the reconstruction of Jajarkot following the devastating earthquake.
This financial assistance underscores the collaborative spirit between the two nations and aims to facilitate the rebuilding process in the earthquake-affected region, he stated.
