Kathmandu, Aug. 4: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) shed 21.15 points on Tuesday, marking the second consecutive day of fall, to close at 2,663.18 points.
The secondary market went straight down from the commencement of trading hours and reached as low as 2,661.62 points in the first one and a half hours. After going through a series of fluctuations in the remaining period, the index hit the day’s low at 2,660.46 points in the last three minutes.
All 13 sectors were the losers, as manufacturing and processing dipped by the largest of 139.84 points. The sensitive index that measures the performance of the blue chips companies also plunged 2.66 points.
Along with the overall index, daily turnover also declined to Rs 4.07 billion from Rs 4.57 billion. Among individual companies, only 59 were listed as gainers, while 213 lost in the market values and five remained unchanged.
Khanikhola Hydropower Co Ltd witnessed the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 406.69 million. Saptakoshi Development Bank’s share price declined by the highest of 13.43 percent as Everest Color Limited hit the highest of 15 percent increase.
