Kathmandu, Dec. 18: The newly constructed school building of Shree Diding Basic School in Chichila Rural Municipality–3 of Sankhuwasabha district has been inaugurated with financial assistance from the Government of India.
The facility, built under the High Impact Community Development Project framework, was jointly inaugurated on Thursday by Basist Nandan, First Secretary at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, and Pasang Nurbu Sherpa, Chairperson of Chichila Rural Municipality.
The project, including the construction of the school building and allied facilities, was implemented through Chichila Rural Municipality in Koshi Province as part of India’s development cooperation with Nepal.
Shree Diding Basic School, established in 1962, provides education from Early Childhood Development level to Grade Five. Local representatives, school management and other stakeholders expressed appreciation for the development support provided by the Government of India and said the new infrastructure would improve the learning environment and contribute to strengthening the education sector in the area.
India and Nepal, as close neighbours, continue to engage in wide-ranging and multi-sectoral cooperation. The implementation of High Impact Community Development Projects reflects India’s continued support for Nepal’s development efforts, particularly in strengthening grassroots-level infrastructure in priority sectors.
