Kathmandu, June 11: A writ petition has been registered at the Supreme Court (SC) against Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and former Maoist leader Baburam Bhattarai.
Lenin Bista filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court against PM Dahal and Bhattarai, claiming that it was a war crime to force minors like him to be used as child soldiers and to forcefully expel them from the camp as disqualified combatants.
Earlier, the Supreme Court Administration had refused to register Bista’s petition saying that it would be decided according to the transitional justice mechanism. A single bench of Justice Ananda Mohan Bhattarai, while hearing the petition filed by Bista against the SC administration, ordered the registration of the writ petition on Friday.
The date of hearing on the writ petition has been fixed for June 13.
