New Delhi, June 4: Rabi Lamichhane, the chairman of Nepal’s ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), held a high-level meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday during his official visit to India.
Prime Minister Modi shared a photograph of the meeting on his official Facebook page, expressing India’s enthusiasm to collaborate with Nepal’s newly formed government for a shared and prosperous future.
“Under our Neighborhood First policy, Nepal is a priority partner, and we look forward to working with the new government to take the special and multifaceted relationship between our two countries to even greater heights,” Prime Minister Modi wrote.
Chairman Lamichhane, who arrived in India on Tuesday, has been participating in a series of high-profile political engagements. On Wednesday, he met with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nitin Nabin and toured the BJP headquarters. Following his party interactions, Lamichhane also held separate bilateral meetings with India’s Union Home Minister Amit Shah and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar to discuss regional security, mutual interests, and strengthening cross-border cooperation.
