Tehran, July 17: Iran has vehemently rejected accusations of any involvement in alleged plots to assassinate former US President Donald Trump, while vowing to pursue legal action over the 2020 killing of a revered Iranian general by a US drone strike.
According to the state-run IRNA news agency, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said on Wednesday that Iran "strongly rejects any involvement in the recent armed attack on Trump or claims about Iran's intention for such an action."
Kanaani added: "The Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to pursue legal action against Trump for his direct role in the crime of assassinating General Qassem Soleimani."
Soleimani was the commander of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' Quds Force, who was killed in the US drone attack in Baghdad in January 2020.-Agencies
