MoUs signed for 8 HICDPs related to education, health and agriculture in Nepal that will be implemented through grant assistance from the Government of India

Kathmandu, Aug. 11: The Embassy of India, Kathmandu; the Ministry of Land Management, Co-operatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration, Government of Nepal; and Project Implementing Agencies of Government of Nepal, on Tuesday signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for undertaking 8 High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDPs) in Nepal through grant assistance from the Government of India in in the education, health and agriculture sectors with a total estimated cost of Nepali Rupees 803 million.

These eight projects, namely: (i), Digitalization of B.P Koirala Institute of Health and Sciences (BPKIHS), Dharan, Sunsari District, Koshi Province,  (ii) Construction of Krishi Utpadan Sankalan Tatha Bikri Kendra, Temkemaiyung Rural Municipality,  Ward No. 9, Bhojpur District, Koshi Province, (iii) Construction of Municipal Agricultural and Livestock Center Building, Jwalamukhi Rural Municipality-6, Dhading District, Bagmati Province, (iv) Construction of  Building of Belbari Multiple Campus, Belbari Municipality-3, Morang District, Koshi Province, (v) Construction of 10 Bed Hospital, Dungeshwor Rural Municipality, Ward No. 5, Dailekh District, Karnali Province, (vi) Construction of Agriculture Promotion Centre, Sarkegad Rural Municipality, Ward No. 4,  Humla District, Karnali Province, (vii) Construction of Cold Store, Kaligandaki Rural Municipality, Ward No.4, Syangja District, Gandaki Province, and (viii) Construction of 15 Bed Hospital Building, Barju Rural Municipality, Sunsari District, Koshi Province; shall be implemented through local authorities and institutions of the Government of Nepal. 

Since 2003, Government of India has undertaken 605 HICDPs in Nepal, including the 8 projects for which MoUs were signed on Tuesday. Out of these, 512 projects have been completed in the areas of health, education, agriculture, drinking water, connectivity, sanitation and creation of public utilities, and the remaining projects are at various stages of implementation. 

As close neighbours, India and Nepal are engaged in wide-ranging and multi-sectoral cooperation. The implementation of HICDPs reflects the continued support of the Government of India in strengthening the efforts of the Government of Nepal in promoting growth and development, apart from augmenting infrastructure in priority sectors.

With this, the national coronavirus tally has reached 817,672.  According to the Ministry, 339 persons tested positive for the coronavirus at various labs across the country in the past 24 hours.

With 363 new cases Coronavirus national tally reaches 818,035

Kathmandu, Nov. 17: The Ministry of Health and Population informed 363 new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday. With this, the national coronavirus tally has reached 818,035.  According to the Ministry, 363 persons tested positive for the coronavirus at various labs across the country in the past 24 hours.

With 272 new cases Coronavirus national tally reaches 818,307

Kathmandu, Nov. 18: The Ministry of Health and Population informed 272 new cases of coronavirus on Thursday. With this, the national coronavirus tally has reached 818,307.  According to the Ministry, 272 persons tested positive for the coronavirus at various labs across the country in the past 24 hours.
