Kathmandu, Mar. 29: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Narayan Khadka who is presently in Sri Lanka in connection to the 18th Ministerial Meeting of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral, Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) remained busy throughout today in bilateral talks and meetings with his counterparts from several countries.
His meeting with Indian Minister for External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar was followed by the meetings with Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister Dr A. K. Abdul Momen and Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai.
During the meetings, the regional leaders exchanged views on matters of bilateral and mutual concern. They discussed trade, investment and tourism promotion issues.
Meanwhile, in his address to the BIMSTEC session, Minister Khadka stressed renewed resolution, collective commitments and concrete actions for the revival of BIMSTEC. He was of the view of exploring new ways to deal with the existing challenges and make the BIMSTEC, a regional forum, more vibrant.
