Kathmandu, Mar. 21: Prashant Kumar Sona, Second Secretary, Embassy of India, Pasang Nurpu Sherpa, Chairman of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality and Koshnath Adhikari, Project Director of Central Level Project Implementation Unit (Building & Housing), jointly laid foundation stone on Thursday for the reconstruction of Listikot Ghyang Gumba in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality, Sindhupalchowk. The event was attended by ward chairs, community members and officials of Central Level Project Implementation Unit (Building & Housing).
The Listikot Ghyang Gumba, Sindhupalchowk is one of the 7 Gumbas being funded under Government of India’s post-earthquake reconstruction grant assistance in Sindhupalchowk district. Earlier on 5th January 2024, Nawalpur Ghyang Gumba, Sindupalchowk was virtually inaugurated during the visit of Dr. S. Jaishanker, Hon’ble External Affairs Minister of India, to Nepal. Other 5 Gumbas are at various stages of implementation. The CLPIU(Building & Housing) of GoN is the implementing as well as monitoring agency of this project.
Government of India has committed to take up conservation of 28 cultural heritage sites across 7 districts of Nepal. Beside these, under post-earthquake reconstruction grant, Government of India has supported reconstruction of 50000 private houses of Gorkha and Nuwakot districts, reconstruction of 71 educational institutions across 8 districts and reconstruction of 132 health facilities across 10 districts of Nepal.
Government of India is honoured to be associated with Government of Nepal in the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage sites in Nepal.
