Govt. ready to listen to democratic public protests: Sri Lanka PM Dinesh Gunawardena

Colombo, July 27: The government is ready to listen to the democratic public protests, Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena said today.

He told Parliament that however, they could not accept the acts of terrorism.

Making a statement in Parliament he said terrorism was the greatest threat to democracy and that he believed that the Parliament which upholds democracy would not support such acts of terrorism.

He said there could be different political ideologies but the Parliament could work in unison to address the issues faced by the people.-Agencies
